We hope you are having a great summer. Hopefully you are getting a chance to spend more time out of the office and take advantage of some time off. Here at Rent Magic we are always hard at work to continue enhancing the program to make you more efficient to give you that time off. Hopefully you'll be able to put some of these great new Rent Magic features to work. Tenant Portal produces Rent Receipts on Demand

Getting your tenants connected to Rent Magic is easy and now they can do even more online that will free your staff from having to do repetitive tasks like printing rent receipts. If you are using the Enterprise version of Rent Magic, you can activate up to 4 options that will give your tenants a little more access and increased satisfaction. The receipt option gives your tenants a link that will allow them to download a receipt for each month they are renting from you. By allowing your tenants this access, you can significantly cut down requests to your offices for receipts.

Email Directly to Tenants and Owners

With this new enhancement, Enterprise users can now email directly from the software to tenants and Owners, either one at a time or en masse via mail merge. This option is also available in both Legal Forms screens and will be active if you have set up a letter to generate through these screens. All you need to do is check off the 'Send Letter as Email' check box. (The legal form itself will not be sent via email for reasons of legality). In the Tenant screen, you can forward any correspondence by right-clicking the letter or note and selecting 'Email'. If you have an email stored under the primary tenant, the system will auto-fill the address into the field and by clicking 'OK', the email will be sent.

Bill to a 3rd Party Function

This feature was developed primarily for Commercial users, but can be used anytime someone else is paying rent on behalf of the tenant occupying the unit. Using a Commercial example, this feature is critical when the landlord must bill "Head-Office" to pay for the area a subsidiary is occupying. By entering "Head Office" as an Occupant, setting the 'Type' as 'Billing' and then filling in all the pertinent info in the "Other Info/Credit Check" screen, the system will automatically use this information to fill in the 'Bill to' information on the rental invoices to be forwarded. Besides commercial applications, we have seen this feature used for nursing home management to great effect.

A few more enhancements we'd like to highlight:

Refresh Button

The green circular arrow is quite prominent on the Summary screen and it makes it easier to confirm your data on this screen is most up to date. Use it to confirm the latest Move in and outs and all the other shortcuts built into this overview page.

Journal Entry Duplication

Do you have a set of Journal Entries that you create every month with minor adjustments? Now you can duplicate an existing JE and edit it for another period. So if you forgot to have an entry auto-recur or you want to post it manually every time, simply open an existing entry and click the 'Recreate' button on the bottom of the screen. The system will recreate the entry and you will be able to modify the entire entry before posting it to the appropriate date.

New Reports

We have added a few new reports. One of them we'd like to highlight is the "General Ledger Posting Details". For Admin managing multiple users, we have added this new report to display who posted or last modified an an entry. While you were always able to get this information on the Tenant Account Histories, this information was largely unavailable on AP and Journal entries. This report corrects all that. You can now easily see the detail of which user edited it and when.

For a very reasonable fee you will get a website with your own domin name that you can personalize to reflect your business. The best part of this package is that it connects directly to Rent Magic right out the box. You will be able to have all your descriptions and pictures stored on Rent Magic and with a click of a button, have it all populate your website. Other great features bundled into this package include email addresses with your domain name, storage space, online tenant application form built into the site and tenant and owner login areas.
