We are very excited to present our newest advances in our quest to provide easier and more efficient ways of maintaining your property management business. You may have already received a few software updates that add enhanced functionality to ManageUDA Online. This newsletter will spell out some of the major parts of these updates.

Custom Charges per Building

Clients have expressed the concern that the multiple custom charges they created were cluttering up the Tenant Editor screen, especially when the charges were not applicable to all buildings.

Under "Advanced Settings" you can now select exactly which buildings will have the charge and from which they will be hidden

New Hide All Companies Buildings Option

When it comes to which building you see in any part of the program, you had been limited to two options: 1. Show all buildings and 2. Hide buildings unrelated to the current Accounting company. Option #2 is helpful so that you do not mistakenly post invoices or payments to a building in a different Company. But, it has always remained an feature active only in the Accounting modules.

You now have a 3rd option: Hide all unrelated building all the time. This option is functional even in the property management section. This is helpful if you want to process rent cheques on theBatch Payment Screen per company instead of having all your buildings mixed in one screen.

You can find this option in the Edit menu drop-down and select 'Accounting Setting'.

Cheque Printing Enhancement

For those of you who are using the integrated MICR cheque generator (Enterprise users), we have reprogrammed the way ManageUDA prints the cheque stubs when you are printing one cheque to cover many invoices from one vendor. Previously, you have to be concious of how many invoices you were printing at once (max 14 or 15 depending on cheque style). Not any more! Now ManageUDA automatically continues the list of invoices on the next page in the correct areas (the 2 stub areas)

Work Order Upgrade

In an article titled Work Order Tracking - From Paperwork to Paperless we published a little while ago, we described the automated process of moving Work Orders smoothly through a process beginning with the tenant submission to the final sign-off. In the article we describe how a Work Order can be passed off to the maintenance manager (or anyone else) via a direct email. For Enterprise Users you can have this feature work for you. If you do not have the email link in your Work Order screen, simply email [support@rentmagic.ca] and our IT staff will activate it for you.

BC Trust Accounts Compliance Report

A few years ago, the Real Estate Council of British Columbia passed some rigorous rules for brokerage trust accounts. Essentially, if you are depositing money on behalf of others into one account, you need to report the breakdown of money held. This is a common function for most of our 3rd Party managers all over Canada. We have now created a new report that is standard in all versions of Rent Magic's ManageUDA Online called "Liabilities Breakdown". You can find it in the Accounting Reports menu.

Cheque reference on Invoice Screen

While you can always find this data in the Vendor Ledger Report, we realize that it can also be helpful to see how any particular invoice was paid right on the invoice screen. So once an invoice is paid the cheque reference number is displayed right on the invoice.
